In overseeing your departments, you will have the authority you need. On the ME side, you will be an individual contributor, relying on others to achieve your goals. Of course you will have leadership backing, but, as you know, change can be challenging. For the most part you will find people open to positive change -- CI is embedded in our culture -- but there will be times when you'll need to "sell" your ideas. A proactive approach to building relationships and establishing yourself as a resource will help. At the same time, you will be responsible for hitting targets and holding people accountable -- you should be prepared to be assertive as necessary.

Some people are surprised at the fast pace of our operations -- working with fresh produce requires agility and a strong sense of urgency. In addition, in order to be an outstanding Manufacturing Excellence Operations Manager, you will:
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset across all areas of the plants.
  • Pay attention to details and also grasp the bigger picture.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Combine creativity and analytical skills in solving problems.
  • Assume ownership of your role and responsibilities.
  • Achieve goals independently but also know when to ask for support.
