This could be a chance for a strong Senior E-commerce Analyst (or similar) to move up to the manager level. To be a good fit for the E-commerce Business Manager opportunity, you will have:
  • 2+ years of recent experience in account management or vendor management at a leading retailer or CPG supplier, with responsibility for driving online sales either in a buying, merchandising or marketing capacity.
  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is preferred, and experience with food would be ideal. Quick question for you - click here
  • Experience in building relationships and creating and executing business plans with retailers' ecommerce teams, including negotiations.
  • A proven ability to work across functional groups to achieve goals.
  • Experience in communicating and translating retailer requests and insights to internal stakeholders and developing actions plans.
  • Experience in building annual plans, creating forecasts, analyzing retail programs and managing budgets.
  • Digital and mobile savvy.
  • Channel and shopper insight, with a strong understanding of retailer buying, merchandising and marketing strategies. You should be able to translate insights into relevant action plans to grow the business.
  • A strong focus on results, including the ability to identify and consistently track key metrics, identify key opportunities and issues, and develop/execute plans to address.
  • Innovation and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and initiate new processes/ideas.

Reporting to the Vice President of New and Emerging Business, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, market share, and brand representation/discoverability on key online retailers. You'll be accountable for developing and maintaining deep knowledge of specific retailers' and platform strategies, operations and shoppers in order to create and execute effective strategies and educate the internal organization.

Right off the bat you'll handle tactical activities with existing accounts, including content and image management, ensuring all our products are posted, and ensuring compliance. As you know, each retailer has different formats. While you will create some content yourself, for the most part you will "source" content from different internal partners. You will work with sales leaders, trade marketing, MarComm and others.

You will own the relationships with specific online retailers and be responsible for the creation and execution of an annual business plan, negotiating all retailer/trade-related terms/contracts, data access/KPI tracking, sharing and translating category insights into actionable plans, and addressing all retailer specific requests/requirements.

More specifically, you will:
  • Drive category and Bonduelle sales growth, markets share and brand representation online.
  • Develop and execute strategies and plans to meet assigned sales and market share goals.
  • Monitor and improve brand distribution, representation and discoverability at assigned retailers.
  • Lead and collaborate with brand/shopper marketing on key programs.
  • Prospect new e-retailer accounts to enable Bonduelle brands for online sales at the same. Own & develop strong relationship with assigned retailers.
  • Own all direct contact with retailer partners e-commerce teams.
  • Address all retailer specific requests/requirements.
  • Negotiate all trade-related terms and contracts with pure play e-retailers.
  • Participate in and/or conduct business reviews with relevant cross-functional members of Bonduelle organization on key aspects of assigned retailer's business and needs.
  • Create strong e-commerce business plans for assigned retailers in partnership with Key Accounts.
  • Understand assigned retailers' ecommerce, strategies/roadmaps, organization, operations and shoppers deeply.
  • Understand key retailer requirements, socialize with internal organization and develop business plan to attain.
  • Identify relevant KPIs, secure necessary data to measure and track accordingly.
  • Create and execute annual business plans.
  • Manage investment budget, ensuring spending is kept within budget.
  • Develop a strong understanding of various retailer programs' ROI.
  • Allocate budget to specific programs that drive the business.

We're looking for a "native speaker" of digital who can hit the ground running. You also will need the leadership and interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships in order to influence and motivate stakeholders. There will be a lot of details to track, so you should be highly organized.

Lots of job postings talk about "fast-paced environments," but in working with fresh produce it is particularly important. You will need drive and initiative -- it isn't enough to say, "I sent an email and I'm waiting for a response." You'll need to follow up diligently and ensure goals are achieved quickly.

In addition, in order to be an outstanding E-Commerce Business Manager, you will:
  • Strike the right balance between handling tough negotiations with retailers while building strong connections and partnerships with them.
  • Work and learn independently, figuring things out and navigating the organization on your own. You also should know when to ask questions, but you shouldn't be afraid to try and fail.
