Job responsibilities
The Production Manager is responsible for the management and leadership of the Production area and direct contact for other cross functional departments. Directs and coordinates activities of the food processing plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

What you will Do:
- Manage day-to-day activities of various departments for 1st and 2nd shift in the organization.
- Improve processes and policies to support organizational goals.
- Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.
- Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Organize recruitment and placement of required staff.
- Establish organizational structures.
- Delegate tasks and ensure accountability.
- Establish work schedules.
- Monitor, coach and evaluate performance for Team Leads.
- Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, pricing and distribution of goods.
- Monitor performance and implement improvements to ensure quality products.
- Manage quantity and quality of employee productivity.
- Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity.
- Implement and manage operational plans.
- Support our Corporate Social Responsibility BFA objectives and help drive progress against our 2025 CSR goals and B Corp certification requirements.
What you will need:

- Five (5) to ten (10) years of broad technical experience of which at least 5 to 7 years should be in manufacturing operation and/or manufacturing/process engineering.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years management experience.
- Minimum Five (5) + years operations management.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of TPM principles and practices is a must.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and DMAIC principles and practices is a plus.
- Experience in leading teams leads in processing, storing, and shipping food product initiatives.
- Experience in approving plant payroll and payments for departmental materials or product purchases.
- Experience in establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations, product quality, reliability and safety.
- Previously responsible for operational efficiencies to include yields, labor, shipping/picking efficiencies, and sanitation scores.
- Previous experience enforcing through functional groups, productivity, quality and safety requirements in accordance with company needs.
- Experience in continuous improvement (CI). Candidate evaluated and developed improved techniques for the control of operations, quality, reliability and safety.
- Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company operations procedures, reporting on the performance and initiating improvements for operations.
- Organized, coordinated and had general oversight of all production staff and activities.
- Developed and implemented a high learning team organization.
- Acted as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the procurement of services and materials for the company's products.
