Job responsibilities
The Production Trainer is a key position within our manufacturing plants and supports our production team leads as they drive production to the highest safety, quality and efficiency standards. The Associate in this role will help drive efficiencies and associate retention by developing, training and coaching associates on the line on standard operating procedures. The position is responsible for the training and integration of new associates into the production environment and is exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within production.

What you will Do:
- Conduct an onboarding session using a PowerPoint presentation on associates’ 1st day including GMPs, Safety, and the environment
- Ensure all associates receive the necessary on-boarding and refresher training's, in cooperation with department supervisors (QA & Bistro)
- Train assigned associates while utilizing effective training techniques, such as new associates' orientation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, etc.
- Follow and maintain HACCP & Sanitation guidelines & processes
- Perform/assist with annual training needs, making recommendations based on opportunities
- Ensure that adequate lesson plans/materials are available
- Maintain record (training sign-in sheets and development status of trainees)
- Understand yield standards
- Work safely around moving equipment and conveyors in a wet environment
- Perform appropriate instructional procedures or methods
- Ensure new, transferred/returning associates receive appropriate department- or equipment-specific training
- Understand how to maintain a safe work environment
- Comply with SQF Regulatory Programs
- Perform assessment of all new temps and associates
- Assist with improvement of the facility's general orientation/induction program
- Investigate and remain updated on alternative training methods
- Assist with tracking of all training records and required training needs
- Special projects as assigned

Desired qualifications:
What you will Need:
- GED/High School diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Reading, writing, speaking English
- Comprehension of basic math
- Training experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Ability to use a computer (MS Office and Google Suite)
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to complete required documentation
- Ability to understand plant KPIs (production, quality, safety, and our processes)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs numerous times a day
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

Physical Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements. The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
