The Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent; associate degree in Electronics Technology or another relevant focus, equivalent certification or completion of an accredited apprenticeship preferred
- 5 years of experience in the electronics field including a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a maintenance technician
- At least 2 years of experience working in a high-volume food manufacturing (preferred), industrial manufacturing or similar environment Quick question for you - click here
- Proven electromechanical skills
- Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.)
- Basic skills and knowledge of PLC systems (ideally Allen Bradley and Siemens) and hydraulic equipment (packaging and sealing machinery); knowledge of automation equipment is a plus
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in mechanical systems
- Ability to read and understand electronic and electrical schematics
- Solid computer skills including basic Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work both independently and as a strong team member, completing objectives efficiently
- Ability to work a rotating (6 days on 1 off, followed by 4 days on and 3 off) first or second shift including weekends and overtime. Quick question for you - click here

The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, as Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibilities will be to proactively troubleshoot, diagnose and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and plant support equipment. Daily you will interact with leadership, Production and Quality Assurance team members, and other maintenance technicians to meet an overall mission to maximize plant output, efficiency, quality and safety. Your duties will be performed in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment where team members are involved with overhauling existing and installing new equipment.
Your time will typically be split between equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting and debugging (30%), equipment repairs including automated mechanical equipment, motor controls, electronic boards, control circuits, etc. (30%), routine preventative maintenance including cleaning and lubricating equipment according to pre-set standards (30%) and project work, such as working with Engineering on equipment modification (10%). Specifically, you will:
- Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical problems on plant facility and production equipment; performing emergency troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and document maintenance concerns/resolutions; provide action plans and status reports as needed.
- Complete work orders.
- Recognize and correct potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions.
- Performing tear downs, set-up of equipment.
- Inspect, operate and/or test the facility's equipment to diagnose issues; dismantle the equipment, machines or facility to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Ensure that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
