Job responsibilities
The Maintenance Supervisor, internally titled Maintenance Team Lead, directs and coordinates all maintenance activities and modifications on production line equipment in a manner to ensure the equipment can operate at maximum efficiency. The position is responsible for developing associates under her/his direct supervision in all aspects of the maintenance function. This position is also responsible for supporting and accomplishing goals and objectives using the "team" management approach by working closely with other departments, especially Production and Engineering.

What you will Do:
- Identify training needs and ensures that training is scheduled to satisfy the identified needs.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships between intermediate levels of management and maintenance associates.
- Participate in project management activities as required on Production line equipment.
- Meets daily to discuss and resolve problems relating to production equipment, discuss production line equipment, work order status, provide feedback on work status and backlog.
- Meets as needed to order parts, clarify purchase requisitions, resolve maintenance budget reporting problems, forecast spending, coordinate equipment modifications, new installations, review proposals, quotes, bids, prices, discuss production line projects and system maintenance requirements.
- Ensures that associates under his/her supervision follow all corporate safety procedures and comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements. Also monitors outside service people and contractor activities to ensure compliance with all safety rules.
- Assigns work to mechanics in her/his area of responsibility on all three shifts, evaluates their work quality and provides timely and meaningful feedback.
- Reviews equipment manuals and develops preventive maintenance programs to ensure that equipment performance and reliability remains at high levels.
- Ensures that proper sanitation is performed after maintenance has been performed on all production line equipment.
What you will Need:
- 2+ years of recent experience in supervisory roles.
- Technical knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- The aptitude and desire to grow professionally, possibly to a manager role.
- The ability to troubleshoot problems on production line equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment safety requirements as they apply to equipment moving and installation.
- Knowledge of personal computer spreadsheet software and programs.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Initiative and self-motivation.
- The ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization.
Top candidates also will have many of the following:
- Advanced technical and working knowledge in maintaining production line equipment.
- Experience with food processing and/or robotics.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and the ability to develop preventive maintenance programs form vendor manuals.
- Knowledge of operating budgets and analyzing and forecasting variances.
- Working knowledge of electrical power distribution and the ability to read basic electrical diagrams, basic instrumentation and programmable controller (PLC) programming, mechanical and hydraulic systems as well as 480-volt electrical safety practices.
- Knowledge in:
- Ammonia refrigeration systems, lubrication requirements, and water treatment methods.
- Welding safety practices and hot-work permit requirements.
- Forklift and scissor lift safety.
- Equipment lock-out/tag-out requirements.
- Chemical handling procedures.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, FDA and GMP requirements as they pertain to maintenance activities at a food processing facility.
We're hiring for the second shift, which runs Monday through Friday from 3 PM to finish. You also will need to be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment that can be as cold as 34. Related Success Metrics:

While performing the duties of this job, this position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold for extended periods of time. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
