The Requirements
- 2+ years of truck dispatching experience; we may consider slightly less direct dispatch experience for candidates that have deep knowledge of and experience in the transportation industry Quick question for you - click here
- A background in transportation, including:
- Understanding of the transportation network (e.g. over-the-road, broker, private fleet) preferred
- Knowledge of commercial freight operations (i.e. fronthaul, backhaul)
- Excellent customer service skills and experience; ability to build strong internal and external relationships
- Solid computer skills, including Transportation Management System (TMS) experience preferred
- The ability to understand plant KPIs (production, quality & safety)
- Willingness to work 10-12+ hour shifts on a regular basis, as end times for shifts can vary substantially
The Role
Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, you will join a team of eight and play a critical role in ensuring the on-time performance of outbound and CPU orders. You will confirm driver and equipment availability, proactively respond to operational challenges that arise during your shift, and coordinate and communicate order fulfillment and delivery affecting customers.
