To be a good fit for the Long-Haul Driver opportunity, you will have:
  • 2+ years of experience as a commercial driver.
  • A Class A CDL. Quick question for you - click here
  • An acceptable driving record, including no accidents in the part 3 years and no DUIs.
  • An understanding of hours of service, including managing them through an electronic logging device (ELD).
  •  
  • The ability to:
    • Lift and move 50 lbs.
    • Enter and exit trailers from the ground.
    • Work flexible schedule and in fast-paced environment.
  • Refrigeration experience is a plus.

You will join a team of about 30 drivers, including long-haul, raw inbound pickup and local delivery drivers. Typically you'll make three departures a week, each involving a layover. You'll depart between 1 and 6 PM, and deliver finished product to a distribution center. The following day you will return with a load of raw produce. Our long-haul drivers average 3000 miles a week.

You'll be paid route pay and detentions over the normal route built into the route pay. More specifically, you will:
  • Report to work properly groomed and with a clean uniform.
  • Report to work on time to dispatch at designated times.
  • Perform pre-trip checks and inspections, including ensuring:
    • Paperwork is ready (BOLs, manifest, logbook, etc.) Vehicle is loaded and secure.
    • Vehicle is fueled.
  • Make every safe, reasonable effort to meet customer delivery times.
  • After loading, check to see that all product is accounted for and accepted by the customer, and report any short, damaged, wrong or customer-refused items.
  • Obtain a signed BOL from the customer.
  • Keep dispatch updated on your status, and accurately log arrival and departure times.
  • Upon return to Ready Pac, check in with supervisor and complete a post-trip inspection report.
  • Check oil in both the tractor and trailer.
  • Turn in the tractor key to dispatch.
  • Keep the interior of the tractor clean, including windows and mirrors.
