To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Sanitation Supervisor opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED; an associate’s or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing and sanitation 3 to 5 years of direct supervisory experience, including sanitation management experience. Sanitation experience with a diverse product line is preferred.

  • The ability to train and coach others.
  • Project management skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite applications (Excel, Word) Bi-Lingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus.

We're hiring for the third shift, which runs from 11 PM to 7 AM. Specific days will vary, but you will have every other weekend off. We'll also look to you to be flexible. Many of the areas where you'll work are refrigerated (as low as 36°) you will get wet. Because the facility is large, you'll do a good deal of walking.

Reporting to the Sanitation Manager, you will be responsible for supervising sanitation staff and processes for the Irwindale facility during the third shift. This will include standardizing operating procedures; ensuring compliance with food safety, EH&S and other regulations and guidelines; identifying areas of improvement and increasing capabilities of your team. Quick question for you - click here You'll drive KPIs around quality and safety metrics for the Sanitation team, support quality audits, and help the department in meeting budget and P&L objectives.

Your essential duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing all safety practices and protocols, with particular focus on chemical handling and equipment operation.
  • Planning, assigning and directing the work of the third-shift Sanitation team.
  • Coaching and developing team members, including providing training and feedback.
  • Documenting activities to support compliance efforts.
  • Completing regular spot checks and audits to ensure your team is meeting sanitation standards.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fostering a positive work environment while developing a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Interviewing and training associates, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Identifying and reporting equipment issues.
  • Ensuring your team has the supplies and equipment they need.
  • Holding regular stand-up meetings with your team.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
