To be a good fit for the Team Lead - Buyer opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience that demonstrates knowledge of buying, receiving and inventory. Quick question for you - click here
  • Computer proficiency, including:
    • Familiarity with MS Office, including intermediate Excel skills (such as creating reports).
    • Experience with related functions in an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards.
    Comprehension of basic math; experience with finance is a plus.
  • Very detail orientated.
  • Strong organization skills, including prioritization and follow-up.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to exchange accurate information through frequent communications within all levels of the organization.
It's important for you to know that you will work in a cold, wet environment; it can be as low as 34° in production areas. You'll work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and we'll look to you to be flexible, such as coming in on weekends as necessary.

You will report to the Continuous Improvement / Project Engineer Manager, and have a dotted-line relationship with the Finance Manager. Internally your title will be Frontline Coordinator - Buyer. You'll supervise a team of two to three in the stock room/tool crib.

More specifically, you will:
  • Receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment, including parts, in support of production and maintenance.
  • Issue spare and replacement parts, equipment, and expendable items used in repair or maintenance shop.
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.
  • Take calls for breakdowns of equipment and prepare necessary work orders for mechanics.
  • Perform monthly cycle counts.
  • Create site purchase orders, and manage all the steps in the purchasing process, from order to payment.
  • Complete good receipts.
  • Review invoices for payment using a 3-way match process.
  • Review open purchases order report.
  • Reach out to vendors for quotes, invoices, and to resolves invoice discrepancies.
  • Track maintenance spend.
In addition, it will be important for you to maintain a safe work environment, including:
  • Following good manufacturing practices, personal protection equipment and safety guidelines.
  • Working safely around moving equipment and conveyors in a wet environment.
  • Maintaining a clean work area at all times.
