To be a good fit for the Material Handler 2 opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of material handling/ shipping and/or receiving experience, ideally, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating a forklift and/or pallet jack Quick question for you - click here
  • Ability to use an RF scanner is preferred
  • Willingness to work in a cold, fast-paced environment; you'll work in areas ranging from 35° (most often) to 50°
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to work independently and as a strong team member
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and averages
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Experience in a food production environment is preferred
  • Ability to pass a basic math test and drug test prior to hire
We are hiring for both first and second shift positions. First shift begins between 4am and 6:30am, and runs until production is complete. Second shift begins between 2pm and 6:30pm, and runs until production is complete. Typically, you'll have Saturday and Wednesday off, but we'll look for you to be flexible regarding your schedule, including being able to work overtime and holidays. Quick question for you - click here

You should also know:

While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to perform repetitive movements. You’ll regularly work near moving mechanical parts, regularly be exposed to extreme cold, and frequently work in high, precarious places. Additionally, you will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel- or composite-toe shoes.

Opportunity Overview
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor and taking direction from a Team Lead, you will work on the Receiving team and be responsible for picking and feeding production lines rapidly. You'll ensure production lines receive the appropriate product and that the product being used is within the expiration date rotation.​

Role Details
You will join a receiving team and work in the warehouse on any of our 8 different production lines, depending on the day. You will spend most of your time transporting product and feeding the machines that make Bistro, fresh-cut salad and specialty food products, operating an RF scanner, and demonstrating initiative and a sense of urgency. A commitment to safety will also be essential, particularly as you’ll be operating either a forklift or pallet jack to transport the raw materials to the lines or the finished product back to the refrigerated areas. You will be exposed to multiple refrigerated areas within production and refrigerated trucks.

Specifically, you will:
  • Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes.
  • Rotate product by date in the storage cooler while staying in rotation and picking correct product based on age.
  • Locate product in the JDE/DSI system into the designated location using a scanner.
  • Ensure the correct product is placed on the correct line.
  • Move finished goods from production to the cooler and ensure proper product temperature.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or contamination issues, and ensure proper procedures to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
