Role Overview
As Frontline Trainer, you will help drive efficiencies and associate retention by developing, training and coaching associates on the line on standard operating procedures. You will be responsible for the training and integration of new associates, including temporary workers, into the production environment, which includes exposure to multiple refrigerated areas. You'll also manage performance by retraining associates on various processes as needed and requested by production leadership, as well as, deliver, track and document specialty training to meet state and federal standards.

Role Details
Each week, you will deliver onboarding orientation for incoming new hires, covering company information, safety training, GMPs, food handling,  quality, dress code, personal protective equipment (PPE), gowning process and more. That training will be delivered in a classroom, where you'll also take care of required documentation, including taking and uploading a photo of each associate. On Thursday there is no production, so you'll be able to handle administrative duties.

You'll work primarily with temps, though you will also train permanent associates and skilled positions such as label techs and machine operators. On the line -- in our cold environment -- you'll instruct trainees in what to do in their area of responsibility (e.g. chicken, bacon, cheese, etc.), observe their performance as they are learning, and make adjustments/improvements as needed to ensure they are fully trained.

Specifically, you will:
  • Conduct onboarding sessions using a PowerPoint presentation on associates' 1st day including GMPs, Safety, and the environment.
  • Ensure all associates receive the necessary onboarding and refresher trainings, in cooperation with department supervisors (QA and production)
  • Train assigned associates while utilizing effective training techniques, such as new associates' orientation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, etc.
  • Follow and maintain HACCP and Sanitation guidelines and processes
  • Perform/assist with annual training needs, making recommendations based on opportunities
  • Ensure that adequate lesson plans and materials are available
  • Maintain records (training sign-in sheets and development status of trainees); assists in tracking all training records and required training needs
  • Perform appropriate instructional procedures or methods
  • Ensure new, transferred/returning associates receive appropriate department- and/or equipment-specific training.
  • Understand and demonstrate how to maintain a safe work environment
  • Comply with SQF regulatory programs
  • Perform assessments of all new temporary workers and permanent associates
  • Assist with the improvement of the facility's general orientation/induction program
  • Investigate and remain up to date on alternative training methods
  • Handled special projects and other duties as assigned.
