To be a good fit for the Pricing Analyst opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial roles in CPG organizations, including analyzing pricing, cost, product performance and business results.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and finance.
  • Strong technical skills/agility with a variety of systems, including:
    • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). 
    • Solid proficiency with PowerPoint.
    • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally including extracting data.
  • The ability to track work (such as changes to recipes) diligently.
Just as important will be the following competencies and characteristics:
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Openness to learning.
  • Strong initiative, a self-starter approach and the ability to work in a demanding, high-stress environment balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A detail orientation with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others as well as independently.
  • The ability to influence cross-functional team members.
Top candidates also will have several of the following:
  • Familiarity with process cost accounting.
  • Experience working with bills of materials, standard costs and performance drivers within manufacturing plants (labor efficiency, yield analysis, activity based costing, plant overhead analysis).
  • CPG and revenue management experience.
  • Experience with data warehouses and costing systems.
  • Familiarity with MS Access or other database management software.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will join a team that includes a Financial Analyst and a Pricing Coordinator. Your main responsibilities will be to support the Sales Finance manager in financial modeling for the business's bidding & new product development, provide pricing support in JDE, and handle product costing. You'll work directly with the Sales Finance team, to help develop pro forma P&Ls to provide guidance to the business team for decisions. 

On a day-to-day basis, you'll divide your time evenly between:
  • Working with the Pricing Coordinator, including receiving price requests from Sales, updating information in JDE, resolving discrepancies, and more.
  • Working with the Financial Analyst, learning costing and handling a share of the responsibilities.
More specifically, you will:
  • Provide support in the coordination and completion of price changes and other price communication.
  • Assist the Pricing Coordinator in pricing management and issues for both foodservice and retail customers.
  • Adhere to timelines and work cross-functionally to ensure successful and accurate completion of large and small pricing actions.
  • Support the Finance analyst in the costing process for both Foodservice and Retail customers.
  • Coordinate and assist other groups with pricing information, including answering (within established guidelines) customers' pricing questions and complaints.
  • Review current pricing strategies and make recommendations to optimize profitability while focusing on delivery of value to the customer.
  • Provide in-depth analysis to drive an effective pricing strategy for all product lines and customer types.
  • Perform financial analysis and cost analysis; prepare product development requests. Calculate target costs and update standard costs and prices.
  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings on various projects to communicate progress and present recommendations.
  • Analyze performance vs. standards, and budget to achieved goals.
