Leadership, strategy, communication, compliance, engagement, analysis...you'll need a comprehensive set of skills, both hard and soft, to fully own this role.

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you will provide subject matter expertise in the areas of HRIS and payroll. You will build/improve processes, make recommendations, and manage change to create best-in-class operations that can scale to support locations beyond Irwindale. You will manage a team including two direct reports, an HRIS analyst and payroll supervisor, and two indirect reports -- payroll coordinators reporting into the payroll supervisor.  

The Payroll team will be responsible for supporting bi-weekly payroll for 4500 hourly and salaried employees. You'll oversee the team and take ownership of reporting and auditing, ensuring compliance, best practices and more. Likewise, you will provide subject matter expertise on HRIS processes, compliance, vendors and other related initiatives. As Senior Manager, you will also be responsible for providing leadership, planning, project coordination, and management of HR operational activities, improving and modernizing processes over time.

Specifically, you will:
  • Develop and manage to a project plan to include requirements gathering, HRIS design, development, testing and training of HRIS processes and programs.  Quick question for you - click here
    • Think strategically about HRIS design.
    • Lead documentation efforts to support the changes (i.e. desktop/system procedures) to ensure sustainability.
    • Coordinate testing activities to include the creation of testing scripts for HRIS readiness activities.
  • Manage the payroll team to communicate pay/tax changes and process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Drive continuous service improvements and operational efficiencies in HR operations, services, processes and procedures; design and implement innovative practices, where applicable.
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of data to ensure data integrity in all systems; assess and improve data processing methods to help them streamline and go paperless where possible.
  • Partner with HR teams including the Comp and Benefits Manager, on existing benefits, payroll, and HR processes and help answer employee questions, issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Manage the company’s compliance with ACA, EEOC and other federal reporting requirements.
  • Drive and execute the stabilization and documentation of HR operational processes.
  • Collaborate closely with internal HR teams as well as key stakeholders (Accounting, Finance, IT, etc.).
  • Continuously drive improvements and automation to increase quality, experience and effectiveness.
