To be a good fit for the Automation Maintenance Technician opportunity, you will have:

• An associate's degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent certification or completion of an accredited apprenticeship.
• 5+ years of experience within the electronics field and strong electromechanical knowledge.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environments, ideally including food processing.
• Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.).
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills in mechanical systems.

• Working knowledge of PLC components and systems, including the relationships of a PLC system from program inputs, outputs and ladder logic in order to troubleshoot problems from a laptop computer.
• Very strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations such as training; the ability to create training documentation is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in programming and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• The ability to run electrical conduit, knowledge of code requirements and the ability to troubleshoot power distribution systems. Knowledge of 4-20 mA and 12-24 VDC (low voltage) control circuits for automated equipment.
• The ability to read and understand electronic and electrical schematics as well as piping & instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams.
• Computer skills, with the capability to use email, and compile reports and spreadsheets for parts and project tracking.
• Your own set of basic tools (we'll provide any specialized tools).

We are hiring for both 1st and 2nd shifts, but you also will need to be flexible to work other shifts and overtime to complete work as needed.

You will interact with the leadership group, production team members, quality assurance, and other maintenance technicians to improve and maximize plant output, efficiency, quality and safety. You'll work in a high volume, manufacturing environment where individuals are involved with overhauling equipment and the installation of new equipment.

Initially you will focus on electrical troubleshooting, and then, when robotics installation starts in the near future, focus on that. You'll be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, equipment repairs, parts replacement, completing work orders, participation in PMs, cleaning and lubricating equipment according to pre-set standards, performing tear downs, set-up of equipment and performing emergency troubleshooting/repairs when needed. Quick question for you - click here

More specifically, you will:

• Identify, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, document maintenance concerns/resolutions, and provide action plans and status reports as needed.
• Recognize and correct potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions.
• Inspect, operate and/or test facilities equipment to diagnose issues; dismantle equipment, machines or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
• Ensure that all work performed meets required codes (OSHA, City and Federal) and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Utilize PLC programs for troubleshooting.
• Maintain working knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs/ controls/ protocols platforms.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
